The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) have greatly increased the number of inspectors they have working for them in the UK and have introduced the ‘Fee for Intervention’ at a rate of £174 per hour (2024/5).
They have the power to enter your premises at any time with no warning; businesses found to be in material breach of Health & Safety law will be charged this rate from the discovery of any breach to the completion of the investigation. Following an investigation a fine may be issued and although HSE fines of up to £20,000 are common, in cases of serious negligence, the fine can be unlimited. Consultancy Services.
